Geol. Eng., MSc. PhD from Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), in 1978 ,MSc and Doctor en Ciencias Geológicas years later.

Over 38 years experience on sedimentology, sequential/general stratigraphy and sedimentary petrology, in parallel to description and characterization of complex (light to heavy) oil reservoirs in the subsoil, especially for EOR methods. Has worked in several oil countries, like: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, México and India. Has been professor for 20 and 10 years respectively in the UCV and Simón Bolívar Universities Venezuela. Also in the International Education Center of PDVSA (CIED). Yoris has been President of EIG Litos C.A., a Consultant company for International and National (Oil and Mining industries in Venezuela, from 1990 to 2005. Has been also General Manager for Pacific Ventures (a former branch of Pacific Stratus Energy in Venezuela) from 2005 to 2008. Since 2008 until January 2017 was the Geology Manager of Pacific.

Solid academic background in geophysics and around 27 years of work experience in petroleum seismology (acquisition, processing, and interpretation), which was gained in both operational and research environment. Expert geoscientist with a proven record of adding value through detailed rock property modeling in onshore areas of Colombia and the Red Sea offshore (Saudi Arabia). Successfully applied techniques such as seismic inversion (acoustic and elastic), seismic attribute and AVO analysis for quantitative interpretation and probabilistic facies discrimination using well logs and 3D/4D seismic data. Experience in Colombia, Saudi Arabia and USA.
