Riley Brinkerhoff is currently a staff geologist with Newfield Exploration working lacustrine sediments of the Uinta Basin. He has previous experience working multiple Rockies and Mid-Con basins with SM Energy, Questar and BP America.
He frequently presents at AAPG meetings and encourages colleagues and students to share their research and submit abstracts. He is a past president of the Montana Geological Society, current Scoutmaster, ultra-marathoner, father of five, and an all-around busy guy.
Originally from Vernal, Utah – the geologic center of the universe – Brinkerhoff obtained his bachelor’s and master’s of geology degrees at Brigham Young University and an MBA at the University of Utah.
