Dr Angela Pascarella has more than seven years of experience in the oil industry. She has just begun her new role with Target OFS in Muscat, Oman where she is in charge of the Borehole geologist team. She received her PHD in Earth science from the University of Naples Federico II, with a thesis on a geological mapping and field observations finalized to understand the evolution of the Southern Apennine chain in late Miocene. She started her career in the oil and gas industry in 2007, with Schlumberger, as a Wireline Field Engineer.

She was in charge of wireline measurement at the well site, taking care of the planning, execution and quality control of the acquired data. She worked for major national and international clients in various locations such as Qatar, Syria, Malaysia and Brunei. From 2010 to 2013 she worked as a Geologist for Schlumberger in Qatar, focusing on Borehole image processing and interpretation for single and multi-well studies into the Middle Eastern fractured carbonate reservoirs of Qatar and Basement reservoirs in Yemen.

From 2013 to 2015 she was a senior Geologist for Schlumberger in Denver, Colorado, involved in several national and international projects focusing on the contribution of borehole image interpretation for reservoir modelling and field development plans. Her focus was mostly on the integration of geological data with petrophysics and production to provide input for reservoir modelling, and reservoir and fracture characterization studies. She has been presenting the results of her work in several internal Schlumberger papers and conferences. As expert in borehole image processing and interpretation, Angela has taught training courses on borehole image processing and interpretation for Schlumberger colleagues, clients, and to student of Petroleum engineering in the Texas A&M University in Qatar.
