Benjamin C. Burke is a senior geologist with Fidelity Exploration & Production in Denver, Colorado. He worked for Noble Energy in Denver where he developed a production geoscience practice involving the use of isotope and biomarker geochemistry to solve production and environmental problems. He started his career at ExxonMobil in Houston where he worked for the Exploration, Development, and Production companies on projects in Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Madagascar. He attended Bowdoin College where he majored in geology and Russian language (1999), earned a PhD from Dartmouth College in earth sciences (geomorphology, 2006), and earned an MBA from Texas A&M University (2010) while he was working for ExxonMobil. During his time at Dartmouth, he was a visiting researcher at the Australian National University, a summer volunteer at the USGS Water Resources Division in Menlo Park, CA, and a geoscience intern for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Between Bowdoin and Dartmouth, he worked for Woodard & Curran, Inc., an environmental consulting firm in Cheshire, Connecticut. He lives in Littleton, Colorado, with his wife, son, and two daughters and enjoying commuter biking, cross country skiing, and whitewater kayaking.  He enjoys teaching, whether he is lecturing to university groups on oil and gas technical subjects or pre-kindergarten groups about dinosaurs. He has co-taught a segment of the Iowa State/University of Nebraska field course in Shell, Wyoming, since 2007. He has also taught geology 101 at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado.
