Bob Davis is a Scientific Advisor, Geology, located in Oklahoma City. His current position is Geology Discipline Career Manager. He joined Schlumberger in 1977 after receiving a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. Since that time he has held various assignments, including wireline field engineer at the Morgan City, Louisiana offshore district, field service manager at the Larose, La. offshore district, and senior sales engineer and district manager in Bradford, Pennsylvania. He spent six years as Division Geologist for the Gulf Coast Division located in New Orleans where he was responsible for assisting clients with evaluation of borehole imaging (FMS/FMI) data and analysis of low contrast/resistivity pay. Bob has been working with geological applications and interpretation of Dipmeter and Formation MicroScanner data since 1985. He has helped develop local models for stratigraphic interpretations in both hard rock and soft rock basins. He was Interpretation Support Manager for Schlumberger in Jakarta Indonesia where he was responsible for the introduction and applications development of new technology such as Platform Express (PEx), Combinable Magnetic Resonance (CMR) and Elemental Capture Spectroscopy (ECS) tools. His last position was in Bakersfield California where one of his main focuses was the interpretation of borehole images in structurally complex reservoirs. He has authored and co-authored many papers on dipmeter field studies, borehole image interpretation and NMR applications. He assumed his present position in 2006. He is a member of SPWLA, SPE, and AAPG.
