Dr. Javier Meneses-Rocha received his B.S. Degree in Geological Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and his M.A. and Ph.D Degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. Javier also holds a Diploma from the IPADE Business School and was AMGP President 2000-01. He joined PEMEX in 1976 where his work ranged from field work, regional studies, prospect evaluation, planning, technical analysis of exploration projects and reserve and resource assessments. He was Manager of Geological and Geophysical Interpretation and Exploration Manager of the Southern Region. He retired from PEMEX in 2008 and is now a Consulting Geologist based in Villahermosa, Tabasco.
