The vast onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration and production infrastructure regular preventative inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR). The transition from manual to automated IMR tasks is well , yet challenges remain. Mechatronic tools can provide major time and cost but require human interaction. Underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) have supported subsea exploration, drilling, and infrastructure IMR. Onshore small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAS, aka drones) have provided significant safety and cost benefits to IMR.

Robotic unmanned systems will continue to fuse sensors, human-machine frameworks, communication networks, command and control architecture, manipulation, and data collection and processing to perform a variety of tasks. Regardless of the environment, oil and gas robotic systems need to be and offer a step change improvement in safety and cost benefits. What are the needs for the next phase of emerging intelligent robotic systems?

Hear from presenters about land, aerial and marine technologies and their integration into Oil & Gas operations. Get your questions answered about regulations, Safety Management Systems, security, business cases, process integration and data management. Interact with our Panel discussion about current challenges and academic research. Gather insight on making about whether to bring systems or outsource your requirements. Whether your business is upstream, midstream, downstream, or service related, please join us at the Society of Petroleum Engineers 2018 Unmanned Systems Annual Meeting.
