Petroleum Structure and Geomechanics Division

Advancing Structural Geology and Geomechanics

Formally established in 2013, AAPG’s PSGD Division represents the fast-growing disciplines of structural geology and geomechanics. PSGD works to augment and highlight the increasing importance of deep and/or geomechanically complex targets (including subsalt and unconventional reservoirs) and the proliferation of papers and specialty meetings on petroleum structural geology and geomechanics.

What we do

PGSD aims to increase the quantity and quality of specialty conferences, publications, and educational outreach for the petroleum structure and geomechanics disciplines within AAPG. We also provide discipline-specific assistance to local organizing groups outside of AAPG.
