Hannah McKay is an Exploration Geologist for Chevron North America E & P in Houston, Texas. She is currently exploring prospects in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Prior to her current position, Hannah completed an internship with Chevron in Bakersfield, California, where she evaluated the efficiency of steam flood operations in the Salinas Basin.
Hannah graduated with a M.Sc. in Geology from California State University Northridge in 2011 after studying the Quaternary stratigraphy and tectonics of Ojai Valley, an actively deforming intramontane basin in the western Transverse Ranges of southern California. She also holds a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the University of California Santa Barbara, olé Gauchos!
Hannah became the Gulf Coast Section Lead of the AAPG Young Professionals in January 2013 and is excited to organize networking and social events. Please contact Hannah if you would like to get involved with the YPs in the Gulf Coast Section.
