William Herbert Hunt is Advisor to Management of Petro-Hunt. He graduated in 1951 from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. “Herbert” has been active in the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry and has been involved in numerous discoveries of large and giant fields in his career. Mr. Hunt is active in the oil service industry, mining, and real estate operations on behalf of various Hunt family companies.

He has been a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist (AAPG) since 1953, and he serves on its Corporate Advisory Committee. He is also currently on the Board for American Petroleum Institute (API).

In 1970, he was President and Board Member of the American Association of Drilling Contractors (AAODC – now IADC); Board and Chairman of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) from 1986-1987; and President of Dallas Wildcat Committee 1965-1966.

He is currently serving other non-industry organizations such as Boy Scouts of America‘s Circle 10 Council - Executive Board since 1981 and past President 1984-1986; Boy Scouts of America Foundation Board; Board of Wadley Blood Bank & Research Institute (Now a part of Carter Blood Bank); and Board member of Presbyterian Hospital – Professional Building Corporation from 1985-1990. He is also a member of Dallas Country Club, Dallas Petroleum Club, and Tower Club.
