Congressional Visits Days

Register by Aug. 12, 2016 to join AAPG and other geoscience societies for Congressional Visits Days in Sept. Congress will be in session, so these meetings promise to be very useful and informative.

Register by Feb. 13, 2016 to join your colleagues and the AAPG Geoscience and Energy Policy team in Washington, D.C., to advocate for issues important to our members. These include rulemakings affecting hydraulic fracturing and methane emissions, access to onshore and offshore federal lands, and federal research to improve technology and build a STEM-proficient workforce.

AAPG in collaboration with many other geoscience societies, invites geoscientists to come to Washington DC for the annual Geosciences Congressional Visits Day (Geo-CVD) on September 16-17, 2014. Geoscience researchers, professionals, students, educators, engineers, and executives will be in Washington DC to raise visibility and support for the geosciences.

Plan to join a group of AAPG members in Washington, DC, next March for Congressional Visits Days. AAPG CVD will be March 10-12, 2014.

This annual event is sponsored by the American Geoscience Institute in collaboration with other geoscience associations. This year’s visits included nine AAPG members and three of their family members.

From April 16-18, AAPG staff members participated in the 2013 AAPG Congressional Visits Day (Congressional Visit Days). This annual event provides an opportunity for AAPG members to discuss petroleum science and energy issues with decision makers in the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.
