I accepted the invitation to be a candidate for AAPG office because I am passionate about serving those organizations who have had a profound impact on my life. I would not be where I am today without AAPG.

I view AAPG as more than a professional organization that I am a part of; I view it as a community of unique and extremely intelligent individuals, who together continue to make a difference in our quest to provide affordable energy to the world every day. The comradery, friendships and professional network that I have developed have continued to serve me throughout my career. I am passionate about the organization serving its members, and that is no more important than at the current time with an energy and workforce transition upon us.

I feel that I have a strong appetite for what members want and need, as I began my involvement as a student while in graduate school. I continued my volunteer efforts into my early career with the Student Chapter Committee, have served on multiple technical planning committees for the annual meeting, recently finished a term as associate editor, and serve the Women’s Network as a co-chair. I have been honored and humbled to serve in these roles throughout my time in the industry.

As everyone is aware, both AAPG and the energy industry as a whole are at a pivotal crossroad, and I feel that by serving on the Executive Committee I can assist in guiding the organization down the appropriate path. Serving AAPG on the Executive Committee is something I have aspired to do since I began my involvement. I believe that the time is now to address sustainable development, climate change, diversity in our organization and the geosciences as a whole. I am willing to take on these challenges with the other members of the Executive Committee and the broader geoscience community. The time to act is now.

My strengths for the position of treasurer include an astute attention to detail and a robust commitment to the geosciences, diversity in geoscience and the STEAM movement, and financial discipline. I am currently pursuing my MBA, which will assist in the position. The next two years will be instrumental for AAPG as an organization going forward and I believe I have the ability to provide a unique perspective to continue to move AAPG forward.

I desire to continue my commitment to AAPG and the future generations of geoscientists through serving on the Executive Committee.
