What is your background?
Background in oil and gas - refining, transportation and royalty collection on production.Worked in Dept. of the Interior since 2009, prior experience regulating the pipeline industry under DOT, and prior to that, worked for an integrated international oil and gas firm in refining and transportation.
How did you become interested in innovation and new directions in the industry?
Always interested in innovation, particularly as it relates to measurement and quantification of green house gases (GHG) related to orphaned wells.
Please describe a new technology or process that you are involved with.
Collaborating with DOE on different ways to measure methane.
Who will benefit from it?
Potentially recipients of the grants can deploy different/faster/more efficient and effective technology to quantify the benefits of plugging wells.
Where will the technology or process be in a year? three years? five years?
Do not know but, because there is a lot of focus on GHG emissions, I am optimistic that we will have new ways of identifying sources and quantifying leaks.
