Technology moves quickly, and so accelerators have to be nimble, quick and agile to provide services, space, and guidance for startups and innovation to prosper. Welcome to an interview with Angel Garcia, B²Hub Accelerator (BAM BizHUB), who is a participant and moderator for AAPG’s U-Pitch New Technology Showcase.

What is your name and your company?

Angel M. Garcia, MBA, B²Hub Accelerator (BAM BizHUB)

What is the name of your new product, service, or process?

BAM BIZHUB, also known as B²Hub Accelerator Program, is a 501c3 nonprofit providing ideation commercialization methodology and mentorship to startups, early-stage, and growth-driven businesses.

Why was it developed? What main problem is it designed to solve?

Higher education business curriculum focuses on training an excellent employee to fit within an established organization. It leaves the innovative entrepreneur without the proper knowledge and tools to develop and implement a functional and prosperous business model unique to their idea. The solution is the B²Hub Accelerator methodology of fine-tuning the business model, utilizing key partners and resources to provide high value to targeted customer segments to achieve scalable results.

What would you like to accomplish by participating in U-Pitch?

The intended purpose for participating in U-Pitch is brand awareness and expansion of our Accelerator to innovators and startups seeking direction to take their innovative idea from 'thought to launch' or from ideation to commercialization.

Another purpose shines a light on the power of collaboration. B²Hub Accelerator has teamed up with Xrathus digital collaboration platform to form TASKcubes, an entrepreneur-driven ecosystem designed to bring together a network of knowledge and expertise from industry, academia, and capital investors, all in support of the entrepreneur. This partnership originated at a U-Pitch event.

What are your plans for the future?

The B²Hub Accelerator Program intends a multifaceted digital and physical expansion across the state of Texas, the United States, and around the globe. We envision a plethora of programs geared toward empowering entrepreneurs, fueling their idea through our own Capital Fund for innovative startups, early-stage, and growth-driven trailblazers.

Please name a person, book, or program that has influenced you in a positive way.

Where to begin is the real question here. I have many mentors I have learned much from over the years. However, my business partner, Michael Crain, is the wizard in my journey who appeared precisely at the moment I needed him. Michael has been a successful business owner several times over, whose purpose is to pass on his entrepreneurial wisdom and knowledge to humanity.

I have consumed many influential books over the years, and most have added to my knowledge base, such as Michael E. Gerber's, The E-Myth. Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne has most recently engaged my curiosity and changed how I perceive entrepreneurship.

I am currently working on the program that will most influence me, The B²Hub Accelerator program.
