South Atlantic Conjugate Margins: Reconnecting Basins with Recent Discoveries and Exploration Opportunities

 

The South Atlantic Conjugate Margins Virtual Technical Symposium: Reconnecting Basins with Recent Discoveries and Exploration Opportunities will be held on online from 6-8 December 2022. This first-ever AAPG event organized by the Latin America and Caribbean and Africa Regions convenes technical experts and industry leaders and highlights both historic and emerging exploration and development opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.

The South Atlantic Conjugate Margins Virtual Technical Symposium: Reconnecting Basins with Recent Discoveries and Exploration Opportunities was held on online from 6-8 December 2022.

This first-ever AAPG event organized jointly by the Latin America and Caribbean and Africa Regions brought together technical experts and industry leaders to highlight historic and emerging exploration and development opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.

The symposium included three sessions featuring keynote talks, technical presentations, and operator panels focused on the three primary segments of the South Atlantic Margins:

  • Session I: Equatorial Segment – Guyana, Suriname, Northern Brazil, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria
  • Session II: Central Segment – Brazil, Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Guinea
  • Session II: Southern Segment – Southern Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Falkland/Malvinas Islands, Namibia, South Africa

The symposium took place over three days half days to facilitate participation from attendees connecting from Africa and the Americas.
