Imperial Barrel Award Asia Pacific Region successfully completed

Institut Teknologi Bandung pulls off a hat-trick!

 

The Asia Pacific region completed our IBA2020 competition on 26 March, with 8 participating schools. Teams were evaluated on multiple aspects including integrated petroleum systems analysis, basic technical interpretations, regional context, team work.

The Asia Pacific region completed our IBA2020 competition on 26 March, with 8 participating schools. Teams were evaluated on multiple aspects including integrated petroleum systems analysis, basic technical interpretations, regional context, team work, etc.

We would like to now to congratulate the following schools:

INSTITUTE TECHNOLOGY BANDUNG from Indonesia for coming out as the best team overall. This is the 3rd time in a row that Team ITB have emerged victorious in our Asia Pacific IBA semi-finals; they also won in 2013. They will now represent the Asia Pacific Region at the IBA Finals in Houston, USA, on Saturday 6 June 2020. Well, done, Institute Technology Bandung! Congratulations to Dr Ben Sapiie, Faculty Advisor.

Congratulations to all these three Schools for your very strong effort.

The other participating teams displayed great team work and good effort. With the Covid-19 pandemic in force, several schools had to deal with lock-downs Many teams had to present at competition time from their own homes. This shows the teamwork that can prevail. Everyone is very proud of all of you. A message was sent to the schools to not be discouraged, as their technical studies have been commended by each of the judges. Everyone is a Winner from the effort that was shown; having dedicated time and effort to this competition. We hope that the exposure you have gained will stand you in good stead for the future.

Our thanks go to our Judges for dedicating their time to be present at this competition.
