GTW Brazil features Solutions for Appraisal & Development of Onshore & Offshore Fields

 

Geoscientists and engineers from seven countries gathered to discuss opportunities at the multidisciplinary workshop in Rio

Geoscientists and engineers from throughout the Americas gathered in Rio de Janeiro in June to examine practices for exploration in development in Brazil and beyond.

GTW Brazil 2019, Solutions for Appraisal & Development of Onshore & Offshore Fields included 17 oral presentations and 4 poster presentations delivered by representatives from 14 companies.

Presentations focused on the following technical themes: EOR/IOR Solutions for Mature Fields, Value of Information in Appraisal Activities, Use of Technologies in Complex Reservoirs and Tools & Technologies to Optimize Exploration & Production.

The workshop also included a panel discussion Field Clusters as an Alternative Solution for Economic Development, as well as plenaries delivered by executives from Petrobras and the National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP).

The 75 event participants came from 7 countries and represented 18 companies, 3 associations and one university.

While in Rio de Janeiro, AAPG organized two additional activities to reach students and young professionals in the area. The Student-Professional Networking Reception, held on June 13, allowed students from the UERJ, UFPR, UFRJ universities to interact with technical professionals and managers attending the GTW.

The AAPG Leadership Meeting and Reception held on June 14, let students and young professionals to share best practices and interact with AAPG Region’s Leaders and fellow chapters. The meeting featured reports from representatives from the Colombia and Brazil Young Professionals chapters who recently completed the Ready to Work professional development programs in their countries.
