On 28 July 2016, the AAPG Young Professionals Chapter Kuala Lumpur welcomed a technical talk entitled “How to Perform Well Analysis with Various Risk Element” given by Mr Phlemon George, Consultant of Exploration & New Ventures Geologist, who kindly volunteered his time in KL.
On 28 July 2016, the AAPG Young Professionals Chapter Kuala Lumpur welcomed a technical talk entitled “How to Perform Well Analysis with Various Risk Element” given by Mr Phlemon George, Consultant of Exploration & New Ventures Geologist, who kindly volunteered his time in KL.
It was an extremely great response of 20 participants with 5 university students and 13 young professionals from 8 oil companies attending the talk. Event venue was at Level 14 PETRONAS office, KLCC Tower 2. Before the talk started at 6.15pm, brief introduction of the main mission of AAPG KL YP chapter was given and mention was made that the AAPG KL YP chapter will host events monthly. Participants were strongly encouraged to take part in these events.
Mr Phlemon George started off his talk by informing the young professionals and university students on the importance of a thorough well analysis. He went on to explain how a detailed well analysis is crucial for future oil & gas discoveries. Most importantly, he also presented various well analysis examples by the different companies that he had worked before.
The talk was very interesting as Mr Phlemon went on to present various risk elements associated with well analysis. He explained how important it is to use all the data available and integrating those into quality geosciences work in the industry. He also encouraged and motivated the audience not to give up and offered them assistance if they encounter any issues regarding to perform well analysis.
The talk ended with a Q&A session which went on for 20 minutes. Phlemon answered all questions. It was an excellent turnout by the students and young professionals for the 6th consecutive talk held in Kuala Lumpur this year.
