Interview with Olivia Carey

Reservoir Revitalization with Innovative Products

New products can revitalize under-performing wells in mature fields. However, it is important to understand precisely why the well is not producing and to select the treatment that will work for the unique conditions of the well.

Welcome to an interview with Olivia Carey, who has committed herself to finding new solutions for wells in need of revitalization. She discusses the products, candidate wells, and increased production using new products.

Welcome to an interview with Olivia Carey, who has committed herself to finding new solutions for wells in need of revitalization. She discusses the products, candidate wells, and increased production using new products.

1. What is your name and your relation to the oil industry?

My name is Olivia Carey. I’ve worked with the oil and gas industry from every angle, including as a GIS Coordinator for an Operator,  as an Asset Manager with the National Resource Conservation Service, as the Director of GIS Services with an Engineering company specializing in geotechnical projects, as an account executive with an oil and gas service provider, and as a consultant to oil and gas companies developing business development strategies as well as creating suitability and prediction models based on geospatial science.  I started out consulting for BTP on various things, and after researching the performance, and assessing the market potential, decided I wanted to be more involved.

2.  What are some of the products that you have been working with?

Nzymatica, LLC is the newly formed subsidiary of BioTech Processing Supply created to handle the authorized distribution of GreenZyme® to the US Market.

3.  What is Greenzyme and what does it do?  How does it function?

GreenZyme® is the EOR of the future: cleaner, safer, and smarter. It is a biodegradable, biological enzyme derivative.  It  digests nothing, dissolves nothing, and causes nothing to grow. GreenZyme® does not resemble MEOR in any way. Introduced into the formation with produced water, it lowers IFT thereby lowering the contact angle, and coats the formation rock and lithology preventing re-attachment. GreenZyme® in addition to raising production revenue, lowers operational costs, to greater affect overall profitability. Does not require special equipment, handling, training, or disposal procedure, thereby lowering company safety concerns and eliminating the need to create rigorous HS&E  practice and policy. There is no taxation or regulatory concerns for transport, can be moved directly from warehouse to customer via US Postal Service ground transport.

We have several cases studies available on our website. Our flagship well in La Salina Oil Field, Venezuela, yielded 440,703 barrels of incremental oil with 4 treatments over 6 years. We also announce new projects on our LinkedIn and FaceBook pages. A blog, which is coming soon will go into each success in depth.

We just treated 2 wells in Leavenworth, Kansas for Running Foxes Petroleum and are gathering data.

4.  Which wells are most likely to benefit?  What would be the ideal candidate well?  Do you have any examples of successes?
GreenZyme performs its biological function in every reservoir.  Suitable for vertical and horizontal, onshore and offshore, conventional and sweep configurations, new and mature wells. Excellent option for problematic wells with high formation temperature, high salinity, a non-neutral pH, heavy oil, having paraffin/naphaltene/asphaltene restriction, and/or in environmentally sensitive areas.

Ideal Well Cases (Good Well Cases)
1.       A well producing 20% of Initial Production or greater. (200 BOPD IP / 40 Current BOPD)
2.       Having a Porosity > 15% (Good 8-15%)
3.       Watercut < 75% (Good <85%)
4.       If pour-point is an issue, where the formation temperature is 20° or greater above the pour point.
5.       Static Liquid Level is above the production zone.
6.       In Wells that are approaching or have fallen below their economic limit because of high overhead to produce.

5.  How can someone get started?
