2011 ACE was mobile!

There is no greater reward to a programmer than seeing his or her creation being used by the target audience!

There is no greater reward to a programmer than seeing his or her creation being used by the target audience! 2011 ACE mobile website’s visitor count that normally hovers around lower double digits began a steady climb during a week preceding the ACE, then shot up to over 500 on the opening day of the Annual Convention & Exhibition and showed significant usage during the event, resulting in almost 1,500 page views.

General Info, Technical Program, Convention-at-a-Glance and Business Committee Meeting pages were the most popular destinations, and rightly so: important information is most valuable when it’s at your fingertips. Also popular were Floorplans and Exibitor lists. Many of you checked out the Daily News as well as the most recent EXPLORER issue while on the go. Some of you also glanced at the bookstore page and viewed our ACE YouTube videos. Many of you also tweeted throughout the Convention.

Here are some comments I received:
“I actually ditched the program guide and used the site, specifically the Annual meeting guide on my iPhone while in Houston.”
“The mobile website was a great help at the Bookstore this year in Houston!”
“Mobile site for ACE was extremely useful in answering questions as members entered the AAPG Center. It was much easier than opening a book. I don’t know what I’d do without it.”

If you are among the twitterers or users of AAPG Mobile site, write us and share your mobile convention experience. We’d love to hear your story!
