VGP Visit Update -August 2015

AAPG Visiting Geoscientist Ray Leonard completes visit to the University of the Western Cape in South Africa.

We just received an update from AAPG Visiting Geoscientist Ray Leonard regarding his visit to the University of the Western Cape.

“..the lecture at the University of the Western Cape was very successful. There were about 55 students in attendance and they were very interested and attentive. About half the students had to leave for their next class right after the lecture and couldn't stay for the photo. I stayed for about an hour after the lecture to have one on one conversations with a few of the students and the Department Chairman.

They are very proud of their AAPG Affiliation, especially as they are the only chapter in South Africa.

Cheers, Ray

We received further feedback from a professor from the University.

“On behalf of the AAPG University of the Western Cape chapter, we wish to express our appreciation for creating time out of your busy schedules to share your experiences with us. The feedback we have received is encouraging and we trust that such visits will be repeated in the near future.

Kind regards,
