The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) AAPG student chapter was pleased to organise the First Distinguished Lecturer Program featuring Dr. Bruce Fouke from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign).
As the current president of this new chapter, I currently work with 15 committee members who hail different oil companies. My main role is to lead my team to plan and coordinate all networking activities, visiting geoscientist talks and field trips for the geoscience young professionals and students.
Online registration is now open for the AAPG Annual Convention and Exhibition, which will be held May 31-June 3 in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. And those who register by April 6 can save up to $210 on their registration fees. Student fees and one-day pass payments also are available.
The global field has been set for the largest AAPG/AAPG Foundation Imperial Barrel Award competition in the event’s history, with contests set to start this month around the world.
AAPG Student Chapters in Canada first sprang up between 1998 and 2000 at three western Canada universities. After an eight year gap, five more chapters emerged and have taken root.
The 2015 AAPG/SEG Spring Break Expo in Norman, Okla., has been canceled.The event was to be held March 12-13 at the University of Oklahoma.
