Influence of tectonic exhumation on porosity of Wufeng–Longmaxi shale in the Fuling gas field of the eastern Sichuan Basin, China

Integrated bulk analyses and scanning electron microscopy were employed to assess the influence of tectonic compaction and exhumation on the pore system in the Wufeng-Longmaxi shale in the Fuling gas field, located on the fold-thrust belt of the eastern Sichuan Basin, China.

Four-dimensional analog and geometrical modeling of the Hides anticline, Papua New Guinea: Structure of a giant gas field

This paper explores the internal structure of the Hides anticline, which is the core part of the Papua New Guinea liquified natural gas project. Geometrical kinematic and sandbox analog modeling place constraints on the deep structure when the shallow structure and stratigraphy is well constrained.

This Executive Committee and the past five EC have been working hard on your behalf. AAPG had a couple black swan events in 2014 and 2015. The Executive Committees during these few years have been working very hard to cut costs and bring the budget into balance in this new commodity price environment. The bottom line to all this is that in five years we have righted the ship, bailed the water, and are sailing once again.

Tectonic and paleogeographic controls on development of the Early–Middle Ordovician Shanganning carbonate platform, Ordos Basin, North China

Lower–Middle Ordovician platform carbonates are important oil and gas reservoir rocks in the Ordos Basin of the North China craton (NCC). In recent years, numerous cores have been recovered from these units, but the depositional environments and facies architecture of this large carbonate platform system have not yet been reported in detail.

Petroleum evolution within the Tarim Basin, northwestern China: Insights from organic geochemistry, fluid inclusions, and rhenium–osmium geochronology of the Halahatang oil field

The newly discovered Halahatang oil field, Tarim Basin, China, has a potential resource of more than 70 bbl oil. The oils are of moderate maturity, biodegraded, and represent one oil family. Fluid inclusion data suggests a single prolonged oil migration event during the Permian.
