Hopefully all of you Student Chapters know about submitting reports to us at AAPG headquarters. For those of you that do not it is IMPORTANT that you take this time to learn about this important aspect of Student Chapter membership.
The below report was submitted by Janice Gregory-Sloan from Schumberger Data & Consulting Services who along with her outstanding team of AAPG members and volunteers coordinated the IBA Gulf Coast Finals for 2009.
The IBA competition for the European Region of AAPG was held on March 27-29th in Prague, Czech Republic. I was able to attend and meet many outstanding students from accross the European Region.
From the AAPG/SEG Spring Break Student Expo in Norman, Oklahoma. March 12-14, 2009 The Spring Break Student Expo was in full swing and according to Nikki Chapin with OU 22 companies and over 205 students participating.
I received a quick message from the folks at OU to remind the students about the upcoming daedlines for the AAPG/SEG Spring Break Student Expo.
I know many of the AAPG Student Chapters participate in AGI’s Earth Science Week, so I thought I would pass this along:
We recently received this message from the AAPG GEO-DC office and would encourage anyone interested in this opportunity to follow the instructions and apply.

Since the L. Austin Weeks Grants are now done for undergraduate students, I felt it was time to remind graduate students that the deadline for applying for 2009 AAAPG Grants-in-Aid is quickly approaching.
