Mid-Continent Section Lead
Drew Kreman is an Associate Geologist with Chesapeake Energy working in the Oklahoma City office. He is currently working the Barnett Shale in the Fort Worth Basin. Drew worked as a Geoscience intern with Chesapeake Energy before getting hired on full time. As an intern, Drew worked in the Haynesville Shale Group looking at the overlying Bossier Shale.
Drew received his Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Northern Iowa in 2009 and his Master of Science in Geology from the University of Arkansas in 2011. His thesis work dealt with strata in the subsurface of northeast Oklahoma where he characterized Lower Mississippian carbonates of Kinderhookian and Osagean age. Drew also worked as a teaching assistant during graduate school at the University of Arkansas. He has presented his research at multiple AAPG events, which include the Mid-Continent Section Meeting in Oklahoma City and the Student Expo in Norman, OK.
Drew has been involved with AAPG since 2008, when he signed up to become a member at the annual GSA Conference in Houston, TX. He has helped other geologists at Chesapeake with two AAPG events held at Chesapeake’s Headquarters in Oklahoma City. These events were the Local Student Chapter Leadership Summit and the Mid-Continent Section IBA competition.
He is also a member of the Tulsa Geological Society, Oklahoma City Geological Society, and Geological Society of America. Drew enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and being with family, and is currently learning to speak Spanish.
