Mr. Anwar Al-Beaiji joined Saudi Aramco in 2003 after completing his BSc degree in Geology from Tulsa University, Oklahoma. He previously worked as a geologist in the Reservoir Characterization Department, Wellsite geology, Exploration Resources Assessment Department and currently working in the Upstream Ventures Department, Saudi Aramco. Anwar holds Msc degree in Petroleum Geosciences from Imperial College London and was a member of the 2008 Imperial College Barrel Award Team that won second place in the global competition during AAPG ACE in San Antonio. Anwar is currently pursuing an MBA degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
Late 2008, Anwar became a member of the AAPG-Middle East Regional Council as the Imperial Barrel Award coordinator. During 2009, he has laid the groundwork for a successful Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) – 1st Middle East Region competition by visiting universities and contacting industry companies to convey the benefits of the IBA to both students and universities. Anwar is also leading the AAPG Student Chapters subcommittee for the Middle East Region with representatives from 7 universities. The Students chapters subcommittee will focus on building a strong relationship between universities and the AAPG, maintaining high levels of students memberships, students receiving all advantages that AAPG offers and planning, organizing and execution of future activities. Anwar is a member of: The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and Dhahran Geological Society (DGS).
Anwar serves the AAPG on the Imperial Barrel Award committee, Student Advisory subcommittee, and Young Professional committee.
