  • Printing Instructions:
    • one document, 5 pages, letter size, B&W student instructions
    • one document, 1 page, 11x17 inches, B&W basemap
    • one document, 4 pages, 11x17 inches, B&W 4 seismic lines
  • Supplies:
    • color pencils, eraser, regular mailing envelop, ‘funny money’

Slide 1

  • Basemap showing how the area has been divided into 18 Blocks and the location of the four given lines and the 5 additional lines available for purchase

Slide 2

  • Part of one of the given lines showing the 3 interpreted horizons:
    1. S = top of Smackover carbonates – top of reservoir interval
    2. L = top of Louann Salt – base of reservoir interval
    3. B = top of Triassic Basement (Eagle Mills)

(Continued on next slide)

Slide 3

  • Same seismic line as on slide 2, but some internal reflections are marked in red
  • The carbonate mounds that form reservoirs in the Smackover show non-parallel internal reflections
  • Where the reflections indicate moundy, wave geometries, this is a potentail reservoir target

(Continued on next slide)

Slide 4

  • Same seismic line as on slides 2 and 3, but where the internal reflections are not parallel, highlighting has been added
  • This indicates a potential reservoir
  • We note the shot point numbers where the 'moundy' reflection pattern begins and ends

Slide 5

  • The potential reservoir extent is marked (in red) on the basemap
