Lagoonal grass bed, of Thallassia testudinum, encrusted with
epibionts including coralline algae, serpulids, and foraminifera. The
grass protects the bottom sediment from erosion and resuspension, leading
to poor sorting and fine-grained size. Note echinoderm Tripneustes
in center of photo, camouflaged with grass blades.
