AAPG Home : Meetings : 2008 ACE-San Antonio : Highlights : Risk Analysis
All events will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center unless otherwise noted.
The cultural mix of the petroleum industry is changing. With increasing frequency, people of different generations, genders, and/or national origins will find themselves working together. How do we respond to these differences? Do we view cultural differences as a hindrance to getting the job done or do we see cultural diversity as an opportunity for incorporating other viewpoints and insights into our work?
This seminar is designed to help participants understand some of the cultural differences we face in the workplace and provide ideas for making the most of both our similarities and our differences to work together more effectively. Three speakers will provide their perspectives on the topics of age, gender, and global cultural diversity:
Following the presentations, there will be time for questions/answers and discussion among the seminar participants. Refreshments will be provided.
This seminar is hosted by the AAPG Professional Women in Earth Sciences (PROWESS) Committee and the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG), with additional funding provided by Chevron.
The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) does not endorse or recommend any products and services that may be cited, used or discussed in AAPG publications or in presentations at events associated with AAPG.
