OK, folks, the game is over — and
already there are a lot of winners.
The biggest winner will be announced this month at
the AAPG Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City.
We’re talking about the AAPG Membership Drive, and
those “winners” especially include the new members who have joined
AAPG and can now participate in a “Pyramid” of member services,
capped by their being a part of the professional community of petroleum
geologists.
Other winners are those who now sport AAPG desk flags
for bringing new members into the fold.
At press time, there are also seven who sport a special
pin denoting the recruiting of three or more members. There are
four who have a pin denoting six or more recruits.
And at the All Convention Luncheon on May 11, the
person who brought in the most members during the membership drive
will receive a travel voucher, four nights lodging and registration
for the 2003 International Conference and Exhibition in Barcelona,
Spain.
Other winners are those who are the top recruiters
in every AAPG Section and Region, each of whom will receive $250
AAPG Dollars. Second place recruiter will receive $100 AAPG Dollars.
Also winning is the general membership of AAPG, which
has gained new colleagues who will share their expertise and sense
of community and broaden the member base, resulting in continued
lower costs of dues, fees and product prices.
Everyone wins. But wait.
You didn’t get a flag, a pin, AAPG bucks or a real,
real, real nice trip to a professional meeting?
Guess what? You still can.
Due to the success of this year’s Membership Enhancement
Drive, it has been extended through 2004 — with the Grand Prize
for next year’s top recruiter receiving a trip to the 2004 AAPG
international meeting in Mexico.
So keep your eye out for your colleagues who still
haven’t joined the professional community. There’s still a chance
to get them in on the winnings!
