AAPG wants to see your student chapter’s story. The annual Student Chapter YouTube™ Video Contest gives student chapters a chance to share their activities and events, their school, the chapter’s members and, most importantly, their passion for geoscience.

Create a three-minute video that tells your AAPG student chapter’s story and submit it between now and 1 May. AAPG’s Student Chapter Committee will judge and choose the winning videos. Creativity pays off!

This year’s prize awards include $1,500 for the first place video, $700 for second place and $300 for third place. Awards will be presented at the Student Chapter Reception at the AAPG Annual Convention and Exhibition (ACE), which will be held 21 May in Salt Lake City.

Tips to help your chapter get started:

• Think about some of the most important activities your chapter did this year. This can include conferences or expos attended, guest speakers, field trips, volunteer activities and awards your chapter received.
• For further inspiration, feel free to check out the winning videos from previous years, but make sure your video tells your chapter’s story. See previous winning videos on the Student Chapter YouTube™ Video Awards page, and then go to the “Recipients” tab.
