Hendratta Ali, Associate Professor of geosciences at the Fort Hays State University (FHSU) in Hays, Kan., has been named the recipient of this year’s American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Inspirational Geoscience Educator Award (IGEA).

Julie Mitchell, a geology teacher from Erie High School in Erie, Colo., has been named the 2017 American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Foundation’s Teacher of the Year.
