Western Antarctic Peninsula, March 2012, by Susan Eaton
Susan Eaton will embark on her third Antarctic expedition from December 29th, 2012 to January 19th, 2013. The expedition is entitled “Antarctica and the Scotia Arc: Tectonics, Climate and Life” and its purpose is to study glaciology, climate change and plate tectonics of Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands (the three areas constitute the “Scotia Arc”).

Eaton will promote her travels before and after the trip to K-12 and university students around Canada and the U.S. She is a geologist, geophysicist, journalist and ‘extreme’ snorkeler with an intense curiosity about planetary processes, the marine environment, climate change and global sustainability issues.
