In 2003-2004 Geophysicist PV Scaturro organized and led the historic 114-day journey down the entire length of the Blue Nile and Nile Rivers, a distance of 3,260 miles (5,250 kms). The Nile First Descent Expedition was the first ever descent of the Blue Nile and Nile River from its source high in the mountains of Ethiopia to the Mediterranean Sea. The historical expedition is featured in the award winning IMAX film Mystery of the Nile, the third highest grossing large format film in history.
