Student Focus
The AAPG European Region and the Organizing Committee for this North-Sea-focused conference are very interested in future geoscientists. These following items have been designed with European student delegates in mind.
Students have opportunities to win prizes and take advantage of special pricing. There are deadlines and limits so please read carefully and do not delay submitting your entries and registrations.
Essay Contest
Answer the question “What will be the role of young geoscience professionals (you!) in the North Sea Petroleum Industry in the next two decades?”
- Deadline: 1 September 2008
- Prize: Top 10 essay authors will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the AAPG European Region Conference in Oslo

The topic of this conference is The North Sea after 40 Years. In an effort to look into the future and understand students’ personal plans (your personal plans) relating to this, the organisers of the Oslo conference are asking students to answer a short questionnaire (about 30 questions). These student views will be shared at the conference and one lucky student will win an 80GB Classic iPod®.
Registration
Student pricing of NOK 480.- (approx. EUR 60.-) is available to the first 50 students who register.
Program / Reception
Join other students on Monday (6 October) at 9.00 pm (right after dinner) at a location near the Hotel Bristol for a social gathering with live music.
