Graduated Dues FAQs
AAPG has opted to start a graduated dues structure which will become effective July 1, 2008.
Associate Member
Qualifications
Any person not qualified for any other class of membership who is a graduate of a college of acceptable standards whose employment is associated with geology, may apply for election as an Associate. The Executive Committee may waive degree requirements, if in its judgment an applicant has adequate professional experience, and has attained professional standing.

At any time an Associate meets the criteria for Member status in the AAPG, they may go to the App Manager and transfer to Member. Should your membership lapse, you may also proceed to the App Manager where you may apply for reinstatement.
In an effort to accommodate the monetary difficulties faced by some people, AAPG dues are based upon the individual’s ability to pay. The Gross Personal Income (GPI) is the basis for the amount of dues collected. This is an honor-based system so no proof of GPI is required. Falsification of this information is a violation of AAPG Code of Ethics.
