The room, day and time schedule for your presentation appears in the Technical Program Summary of the Technical Program and Registration Announcement. The program is available online and may be downloaded or viewed through Itinerary Planner.
With a few exceptions, presentations are scheduled every 20 minutes. This time includes the introduction (which normally takes one minute), the presentation, and a short question and answer period following your talk. All sessions will be the same time frame, and it is essential that all sessions keep on schedule. Session chairs have the responsibility for seeing that each presentation begins on time. Speakers, please leave time for questions within your 20-minute block.
Please remember good slides are essential to a quality presentation [refer to Electronically Speaking]. You only have a few minutes to get your ideas across to the audience. Emphasize only a few key points. Keep slides simple: one idea – one slide. The slides are a significant factor in judging for the best paper award.

As in previous years, the oral sessions will be judged. The Gabriel Dengo Memorial Award is given to the best AAPG oral presentation.

||Significance: Are the data, interpretations, and concepts useful to problems in earth science? How great is the impact of this new information?
||Substantiation: Are data adequate and do they support the conclusions?
||Delivery and Stage Mannerism: Tense or relaxed; addresses audience or lectern? Presentation paced well?
||Visual Aids: Number and appropriateness; legibility and clarity; overcrowded?
||Timing: Full score if not more than 10% short or one minute over.
