Judging Criteria

Your presentation will be judged upon the following criteria. An overall impression will be recorded about each speaker and a recommendation as to its suitability for publication in the AAPG Bulletin or as a topic for a Distinguished Lecture Tour will be made.

Technical Originality: New concepts or interpretations?

Significance and Potential Longevity: Are the data, interpretations, and concepts useful to problems in earth science? How great the impact of this new information?

Substantiation: Are data adequate and do they support the conclusions?

Delivery and Stage Mannerism: Tense or relaxed; addresses audience or lectern? Presentation paced well?

Visual Aids: Number and appropriateness; legibility and clarity; overcrowded?

Timing: Full score if not more than 10% short or one minute over
