This historical journey spans 1,500 years of Mayan culture. The first stop is the recently-opened ancestral city of Coba, an archaeological site hidden deep inside the rain forest of the southeastern Yucatan, where you will be guided through the history that pertains to this site in particular and to the region in general. Walking through these verdant green, vegetation-covered ruins, one literally feels the ancient rhythms of this once strong city-state, and climbing the Nohoch Muul temple (the highest in the state) gives one a true appreciation of the pristine beauty and immeasurable vastness of the surrounding subtropical rain forest.

From Coba you will enter deeper into the jungle to the authentic Mayan village of PAC Chen, a self-sufficient community of approximately 100 indigenous people living next to an integral part of the region's lagoon system.
