Welcome to the Short Course program for the AAPG International Conference and Exhibition. This year in alignment with the theme of our conference, "Petroleum Industry in the 21st Century -- Technology, Business and Frontiers," the Short Course program covers a wide range of hot topics, including sequence stratigraphy and deep-water sedimentation, structural styles in fold-thrust belts, fractured reservoirs, salt tectonics, seismic amplitude and frequency analysis, play assessment techniques, and for the first time, an exciting and introductory course to the petroleum geology of Mexican basins.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take pre- and post-conference courses, attend technical sessions, and select a field trip on the same subject to complete the experience following an educational module approach.

Student Member Discount

Tuition for current full-time AAPG Student Members who would like to attend a course is $50.00. Tuition for members of an AAPG Student Chapter is $25.00.

Three student spaces will be allotted for each course, and students will be accepted with paid registrations on a first-come, first-served basis.

This discount applies to all Short Courses. Attendance is required to receive course material.

Registration and Cancellation Procedures

Space in short courses is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and must be accompanied by full payment. On-site registration will be on a space-available basis.

IMPORTANT: If any of these short courses are likely to meet your needs or those of your professional staff, you are strongly encouraged to register early. All courses are limited in size, and undersubscribed courses will be cancelled. The longer you wait to register, the harder it is to change last-minute plans such as airline and hotel reservations. We caution you about purchasing non-refundable airline tickets in order to attend a course.
