The course will have value to managers and geoscientists interested in knowing more about Mexican basins and exploration processes from regional geology to reservoir characterization.
This broad-spectrum course covers recent advances on the petroleum exploration in oil and gas Mexican basins. The course consists of a series of lectures given by high-prestige managers and geoscientists from the different PEMEX E&P Assets. Specific topics include:
- Overview on Petroleum Geology of Mexican Basins
- Oil- and Gas-Producing Mexican Basins:
- North Region: Burgos, Tampico-Misantla, Veracruz
- South Region: Salina del Istmo, Comalcalco-Chiapas-Tabasco, Macuspana and Sierra de Chiapas
- The Sonda de Campeche: deep-water frontiers in the Gulf of Mexico
- The deep-water Gulf of Mexico
- The exploratory risk analysis and evaluation process at PEMEX E&P
- Main challenges and future trends
