Geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and managers engaged in exploration and production projects in shortened and extended terrain who need an update and overview of structural trap geometries, reservoir fracture systems, and modern structural techniques will benefit from this course.
This e-symposium will help you:
Drawn from Chuck Kluth’s highly regarded short course with field trip, this e-symposium covers integrated structural geology and seismic interpretation in thrusted and extensional terranes. Similar to the course and field trip, this online e-symposium discusses the latest concepts of structural trap geometry and development. These ideas are illustrated with examples from around the Rocky Mountains and the world and incorporate seismic interpretation exercises.
Another focus of the course is the tools and techniques used in structural analysis in exploration and production. The combination of concepts and tools will enable you to recognize structures in your data and predict trap geometry in areas where data is sparse or of poor quality. The course also covers aspects of fractures and synorogenic sedimentation related to trap structures.
Each e-symposium consists of one-hour live e-symposium, along with material for one full day of independent study. The live portion will be followed by a full day of independent study (not a live event). The one-hour live e-symposium can be accessed from any computer anywhere in the world using a high-speed internet connection. After the event is over, you will receive via email information about accessing the asynchronous segment (not live) which consists of your independent study materials, to be accessed and studied at any time. You will be able to email responses to the readings, along with your study question answers for CEU credit (if you sign up for the extended package).
