Attractions

Aquarium of the Pacific
One of the largest aquariums in the United States. With more than 500 species in 19 major habitats and 32 focus exhibits, visitors will take a journey throughout the Pacific Ocean’s three regions: Southern California/Baja, the Tropical Pacific, and the Northern Pacific.

The Queen Mary
The majestic Queen Mary offers you the chance to step back in time aboard one of the most famous ocean liners in history. Going back to the days where steamships were the quickest and most elegant way to travel, The Queen Mary was the first choice for the elite of high society.

Santa Catalina Island
Just an hour boat ride off the coast of Long Beach sits Santa Catalina Island and its picturesque town of Avalon. Catalina Island has long been a favorite getaway spot for Californians and a must-visit destination for visitors from around the world.

Area Beaches
Long Beach is bordered by 5 1/2 miles of clean, sandy beaches. Walk, run, bike or blade on a fully paved bike path that spans the length of the beach from Downtown to Belmont Shore. Enjoy an array of watersports such as swimming, sailing, kayaking or jet skiing. Access the beach in the Belmont Shore / Alamitos Bay area of Long Beach, or from Downtown’s Marina Green Park or Bluff Park.

Climate
Due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach temperatures are moderate throughout the year. The average high in April is 72°F with a low of 53°F.
