This
training module introduces and reviews each of the major carbonate
depositional environments in the platform interior. Module 3, entitled
"Platform-Margin, Slope, and Basinal Carbonate Depositional Environments,"
introduces and reviews major depositional environments of the platform
margin, slope, and basin.
At the completion
of this module, the student will be able to
- understand
the physical, biological, and chemical processes that affect platform
interior sedimentation;
- recognize
major platform-interior environments of deposition; and
- recognize
rock types that are a product of platform-interior carbonate depositional
environments.
