AAPG “Source Rocks of the Middle East” GTW took place from 25-26 January 2016 at the Yas Island Rotana Hotel, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
43 industry professionals from 13 countries and 30 companies attended the workshop to network with colleagues and receive up-to-date knowledge about the recognition and characterization of source rock, along with new and revised technologies and regional case studies. 19 presentations took place across the 2 days, representing a combination of 16 different companies and academic institutions. Attendees also benefited from 7 excellent poster presentations which were on display and the chance to view and discuss core samples provided by KOC.
Highlights included an inaugural keynote speech delivered by Abdullah Al Shateri, ADMA-OPCO, breakout discussion sessions with active participation from the workshop delegates and informative keynote presentations and panel discussions.
