American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG)

The fourth edition of the E&P Data Management and Analytics workshop is jointly organized by SPE and AAPG. The event will be held from 27-29 March in Muscat, Oman and will bring together various geoscience and engineering disciplines to explore the role of the data management and analytics community in enabling capital efficiency.

The workshop program will include the following:

  • Seminar on Strategy and the Importance of Operational Efficiency
  • Session 1: Case Studies
  • Session 2: Data Quality, Validation and Standardization
  • Session 3: Big Data and Analytics
  • Session 4: Competitive Advantages through Government Protection and Technology

Knowledge sharing between regional operators and service companies is certainly a goal for this workshop, but it is also very important that all participants leave after the three days stay in Oman with concrete ideas and plans on how they will help improve capital efficiency, rather than focusing solely on cost reduction in their respective organizations.
