Professionals from all geosciences and their companies are invited to fill our tables to hear keynote speaker Charles Sternbach, president of AAPG, discuss the Permian "Super Basin" of Texas and New Mexico – and describe how it is "super" in more than just a geological sense.
The Permian Super Basin, for a variety of reasons, has become virtually the only area of the United States to not experience a decline of either drilling or production, despite the industry's current low price environment.
Charles will enlighten on what makes this "super basin" tick – and will include Discovery Thinking lessons from other super basins and petroleum-rich areas.
Participants will be provided with geological and technological fodder that can be used in the rejuvenation of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, a sister "super basin."
Each Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG) technical luncheon provides one Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) Professional Development Hour (PDH) credit.
