Influence of Volcanism and Associated Magmatic Processes on Petroleum Systems
14–16 March 2017, Oamaru, New Zealand
The Preliminary Technical Program has been announced for AAPG's second Geosciences Technology Workshop held in New Zealand.
Organizers have accepted 35 papers which have been organized into sessions that include:
- Volcanic and Igneous Intrusive Structures in Sedimentary Basins: Regional Cases.
- Volcanic and Igneous Intrusive Structures in Sedimentary Basins: Morphology and Modes of Emplacement.
- Igneous Activity, Source Rock Maturation and Charge.
- Oil and Gas Reservoirs in Volcanic and Volcaniclastic Rocks and Associated Strata.
The technical program will also include 25 poster presentations.
Featuring an international list of participants, representing both industry and academia, this GTW is designed to examine how magmatic systems interfere with petroleum systems — and how to improve exploration efforts in areas where magmatic processes have resulted in complex geology.
Keynote Speakers:
The workshop features presentations from five keynote speakers: Nick Schofield, Dougal Jerram, Jane Newman, Simon Holford and Sverre Planke.
Optional Field Trips:
There will be two field trips organised privately by the committee — Learn More
