The Indonesian Petroleum Association convention was held in Jakarta from 25-27 May, 2016. The AAPG Asia Pacific region was kindly accorded a booth at the event and this was manned by several student chapters. Peter Grant, region president, and Adrienne Pereira, region Programs Manager, had several meetings, which included one with the committee for our upcoming AAPG Geosciences Technology Workshop in Bandung (13-14 September 2017).
They also met with many students, whose enthusiasm was very infectious. Peter Grant gave a short talk to the students. Peter and Adrienne also met with our Volunteer group, among whom were: Agus Ustad, who started our region website in 2000, Mohammad Amin Ahlun Nazzar, who helped Agus with website updates, Guruh Ferdyanto, who managed our region Distinguished Lecturer program for many years, Sarah Sausan and Arkanu Andaru, who help with content and layout of our region Newsletter and Mika Suryapranata, our region Liaison for the AAPG Young Professionals Program.
