AAPG Angola held her maiden seminar on 21st May 2014. This is the first of a series of seminars to be held by the chapter on a quarterly basis.
The event was facilitated by members of the Angola Chapter board headed by Antonio N Ingles of Chevron Angola. The speaker, Dr. Malcolm Francis of Schlumberger UK, presented a lecture on ‘Prospectivity of the Ultra-deep Lower Congo Basin’ to an audience of oil industry professionals & students at the AAA building in Luanda.
The seminar covered the distal end of the Congo Delta, where Sonangol and Schlumberger have worked together to understand the prospectivity of the area based on thousands of lines of 2D and & 3D seismic data.
